serious matter. need advise

my dear learned Friends,

What would be the best course of action in this situation?

You believe that your Bank, a reputable institution, would keep all your details and particulars private and confidential (as they should be and remain so!).

However, after one particular visit, you happen to catch the eye/attention of one of the hormonally charged employee. The said employee then uses the info that you filled in the form that you submitted for whatever transaction it was, for his personal purposes.

This said employee took the phone no. written on the form and started making annoying calls to you. You could stand it no more and asked him who he was and how he got your no. After a few evasive excuses, he relented and spilled the beans on how he obtained your no. and asked for you to not be angry.

What would you do? Was there a breach of trust? Has he violated any code of conduct? Is it an infringement of the LAW?

We should regard matters like these seriously. To nip the poison in the bud. Imagine, the control of info. is so lax that the said officer can get hold of it for personal reasons, who is to say he may not use it for other purposes? He may even be able to get your home address and start stalking you. Would that idea be too far fetched? But with the kind of stories we hear and the tragic news we get everyday through the media, would that idea now still be too far fetched?

So, my learned friends, please advise.

Yours sincerely,
B.
