I’m really a humble person. Though I can imagine many of you are already rolling around on the floor almost tearing up with laughter. I know I’m no hot shot, though I seem to always behave as though I think I’m one. I am really a simple person. I work hard, I try my best to make good use of all the resources I have and charms, if you may, to my best advantage. I make things work, and make them happen. And I will stop at nothing, even to the extent of using flattery and my wit and humour to get what I need. That’s not blowing smoke up anyone’s arse, though.
I see it as striking a balance between pure effort and also using one’s PR skills to get the job done. Now, in my job, that is something that is particularly useful, especially when you deal with so many different personnel's within an organization in that short timeframe in which you are required to finish the task at hand and submit a complete file before the dateline.
However, sometimes, the accounts could be rather messy and in those circumstances, it’ll take much more than wit and charms to sort out. And also sometimes, you get assigned to work alongside idiots. Not that they’re incompetent, just that they are not so bright. And for those not in the know, I have a bad case of gastric. So when I get stressed up, I will suffer from the gastric pain. So I try my best to avoid these fools. Anyhow, after almost 5 months of maneuvering, I get assigned to a job which has not only one, but 2 of these individuals who are so called “not the sharpest tools in the shed” if you get what I mean. Now, if and when I actually get up to the point of giving these clowns a thai slap, I just wanna say that I did it only because I don’t want to suffer from gastric pains. I also don’t wanna get clogged arteries at the age of 27 because they caused my blood pressure to increase dramatically.
Hence, the only prevention I have before succumbing to those health hazards is to of course (say it with me, now, David!) give the Thai Slap only! Muahhahahahahha…
P/s: I love my job. It’s exciting, but not in the bungee jumping sort of way. It’s challenging but not that it’s gonna make it to AXN anytime soon. But it’s educational and enlightening, but again, not in the discovery channel sort of way either. I love my company, but they don’t pay too well. I have wonderful colleagues, but I hardly see them outside of work… but I’m at work on most days anyway (weekends too!).
